Weekend crime round-up

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

• Friday – Two security guards were tied up during a robbery at a company along Fifth Road in Witpoort Estates.

Three robbers entered the premises at about 2am and robbed the guards of their personal belongings.

* A business in Stoffberg Avenue was burgled of a microwave and a hot water urn.

* Jewellery and a gaming console were stolen during a break-in at a home along Eufees Street in Dalview.

* A Derby Avenue resident interrupted two burglars in his home at around 1.30pm.

A suspect found in possession of shoes and other goods belonging to the family was later arrested.

• Saturday – A blue Bajaj Pulsar motorbike was stolen from an address along Northdene Avenue.

* Three males robbed a man of his cellphone at the corner of Prince George Avenue and Olympia Street in Brenthurst.

The incident took place at around 1am and a suspect was later arrested.

* A residence in Abercorn Avenue was burgled of a TV and an iPhone.

* A car parked along Gloucester Avenue in Dalview was broken into and a digital camera was stolen.

• Sunday – A laptop, cellphone and other valuables were stolen from a home in Morris Lane, Kenleaf.

Other cases:

• Thursday – A red and black scooter (make and model not provided) was stolen from an address along Gardiner Avenue.

Weekend arrests

The following arrests were made in Brakpan over the weekend:

• Speeding: 5
• Housebreaking and theft: 1
• Shoplifting: 4
• Illegal immigrants: 1
• Possession of stolen goods and common robbery: 1
• Theft of motor vehicle: 1
• Trespassing: 1
• Possession of drugs: 1
