Women emergency services workers make their voices heard

Women workers from Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services travelled to Pretoria on Thursday, last week, to hand over a memorandum of grievances and demands to the office of President Cyril Ramaphosa.

A group of the women, who as firefighters and paramedics are called to scenes of crisis or crime, gathered at the Brakpan Fire Station before departing to the Union Buildings.

Some of their demands include a housing allowance, food allowance and danger allowance.

They also called for the removal of EKurhuleni mayor Mzwandile Masina.
