Watermaster machine leaves Brakpan Dam

Hyacinth infestation continues to plague local dam.

It has been brought to the Herald’s attention that the Watermaster machine – which was dispatched to Jan Smuts Park in 2017 to assist with the hyacinth infestation at the Brakpan Dam – is being removed.

Hyacinth continues to flourish at the dam and the reason for the removal of the machine is not clear.

This is a developing story and will be updated as soon as more information becomes available.
