Weekend crime round-up

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

• Friday – Tools and other valuables were stolen from a business situated along Lemmer Road in Witpoort Estates.

* Three men made off with laptops, cellphones and other items after robbing a Dalview business.

The robbers entered the premises along Athlone Avenue at around 2.45pm and held staff at gunpoint.

* Cash, cigarettes and an iPhone were stolen during a robbery at a petrol station along Heidelberg Road (R23), near Dalpark, at about 7pm.

Two men, one of whom was brandishing a firearm, threatened a staff member and demanded money.

The pair fled in a white Honda.

* A home in Graaf Street, Sunair Park, was burgled of various household items including a TV, laptop, kitchen appliances and clothing.

* Numerous cellphones were stolen during a break-in at a shop in Mall@Carnival.

• Saturday – No priority cases were reported at the time of publication.

• Sunday – A woman was robbed of her handbag and a bag of baby nappies by three women at Mall@Carnival.

The victim was sitting on a bench in the mall at around 12.20pm when the trio grabbed her belongings and ran off.

Cellphones, bank cards and other valuables were inside the handbag.
