The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (January 16 to 17):

Cases reported:

• Failure to lock away firearm: 1
• Residential burglary: 2
• Tampering: 1
• Hijacking: 1
• Theft: 1
• Business burglary: 1
• Defeating the ends of justice: 1
• Possession of stolen goods: 1
• Common robbery: 1 (Springs case)
• Culpable homicide: 1

Arrests:

• Obstructing a police officer: 1
• Possession of stolen property: 2
• Theft: 2

Hijacking:

• Three men hijacked the driver and crew of a delivery van along Heidelberg Road (R23) in Dalpark at around 10.15am yesterday (Wednesday).

The driver was forced to stop when a white vehicle suddenly turned in front of him.

He was held at gunpoint and forced into the passenger seat of the van.

The victims were dropped off in Leachville.

Burglary:

• Station Road (business).

The break-in took place on Tuesday.

Stolen: Laptops.

• Bottlebrush Street, Dalpark Extension Six.

The home was burgled yesterday.

Stolen: A TV, cellphones, groceries and keys.

• Wilgerivier Street, Leachville.

The burglary occurred yesterday.

Stolen: Groceries.
