Weekend crime round-up

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

• Friday – A TV was stolen during a break-in at a home along New Kleinfontein Road in Leachville.

• Saturday – A man was robbed at gunpoint by three males at the corner of Voortrekker Road and Park Street.

The incident took place around 8.30am and the robbers fled with the victim’s cellphone, cash and bank card.

* A car parked at Carnival City was broken into.

Cash, the vehicle’s radio and other valuables were stolen.

• Sunday – The female driver of a BMW was hijacked by two men along Location Road at about 2.15pm.

The victim and her passenger were travelling to Brakpan North when the vehicle’s tyre pressure warning light came on.

They pulled over on the side of the road and the passenger climbed out to inspect the car.

Two men emerged from the veld, one of whom pushed the passenger to the ground.

The victim was pulled from the car and the hijackers sped off.

• Speeding: 3
• Theft: 1
• Illegal immigrants: 1
• Shoplifting: 2
• Possession of drugs: 3
• Bribery: 1
• Drunk driving: 3
