Beat your burger craving

Easy recipe for delicious home-made burgers.

Is your family craving a burger take-out?

Try a healthy, and flavour filled, yummy home-made burger.

Newly married Lindsay Kleynhans from  Hirsch’s made her husband’s favourite burger using this awesome  Progressive burger press, a fun kitchen gadget that is so easy to use.

Ingredients:

Four burger buns or large grilled Portobello mushrooms for a healthy alternative.

500g lean mince

One egg

One cup of bread crumbs

A mix of your favourite herbs and spices

Cheese for the filling. You can add anything you like, Jalapenos or peppers work great with the cheese.

Garnish:

Red onion

Burger mayo or sauce of your choice

Crisp lettuce

Tomato

Method:

Mix all ingredients together, except the cheese, buns and garnish, until well combined.

Divide into eight round balls.

Press one of the meat balls into the burger press and place the cube of cheese on top, add another meat ball on top and using the burger press lid press down on the patty until the edges close.

Place the burger patties on a baking tray and bake for +- 20 minutes depending on how you like them done, or try them on the braai for a family fun evening of burger making and stuffing.

Makes four large patties.
