Online concert to raise funds for persons with disabilities

The concert will be hosted by Harmonix alongside artists performing from their homes.

Casual Day, South Africa’s well known fund-raising and awareness campaign for persons with disabilities will be hosting their first online concert via Facebook Live on Youth Day, June 16, at 1pm.

Featuring an exciting line-up of artists, (persons with and without disabilities), this promises to be an awesome showcase of talent and diversity coming together for a great cause.

“We will be fund-raising for our national Casual Day Project, our beneficiaries who are persons with disabilities and their families who have been negatively impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic,” said 2J Harmonix, Casual Day youth ambassador who is also a rapper and activist for the rights of persons with disabilities.

Proudly brought to you by the National Council of and for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD), the concert will be hosted by Harmonix alongside artists performing from their homes.

These include a variety of vocalists, poets, instrumentalists, dancers and rappers.

“Persons with disabilities are among the hardest hit by the crippling economic and health ramifications of the Coronavirus pandemic, and we are seeing NGOs nationwide struggle to keep their doors open in order to support the most vulnerable in society. For these reasons we decided to plan this donation drive within the spirit of Youth Day,” said Therina Wentzel-du Toit, national director of the NCPD.
