
Residents are advised to be vigilant and to ensure their properties and belongings are properly protected against criminals following two house robberies in Brakpan over the weekend.
According to information received from the Brakpan police, the first incident took place during the early hours of Saturday morning at a home along Viking Street in Dalpark Extension One.
The victim was awakened by two gunmen in his bedroom at 3am.
He was instructed to lie on his back and was bound with wire.

The robbers, who were later joined by a third accomplice, fled with two TVs, two cellphones and cash.
In the second incident, which took place in Withok Estates on Sunday afternoon, five men stole a white Honda Civic during a home invasion.
The robbers gained access to the Boland Street property at 3.15pm and confronted a man working in the garden.
The man was threatened with a firearm and instructed to lie on the ground.
While one of the robbers kept a watch over him, the others headed into the house, where the female homeowner was present.
They took the keys to the Honda Civic from a table in the kitchen and fled the scene in the vehicle.
No injuries were reported during either incident.
