Car stolen after driver stops to urinate

As the man spoke to the women, he saw his car being driven away at high speed.

A driver who stopped to urinate during the early hours of Saturday morning was robbed of his car.

According to information received from local police, the incident took place at 4.15am.

The man had been travelling along Kitzinger Avenue in his silver Volkswagen Polo when he pulled over at the corner of Park Street.

A friend had been following in a vehicle behind him and parked behind the Polo.

While relieving himself, the man was approached by two women who asked about a venue they were looking for in Brakpan.

As the man spoke to the women, he saw his car being driven away at high speed.

He climbed into his friend’s car and they attempted to chase after the car thief, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

A case of motor vehicle theft is under investigation.

Despite one other case of car theft, a Mitsubishi Colt bakkie that was stolen from Prince George Avenue on Friday evening, no other serious crimes were reported to the Brakpan police over the weekend
