
According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:
• Friday – A home in Winterberg Street, Dalpark Extension Six, was burgled of a TV, gaming console and radio amp.
• Saturday – A case of attempted murder was opened after a truck driver was shot at while travelling along Springs Road in Witpoort Estates.
The incident took place at 10.40pm as the driver was heading to a transport company in First Road.
He heard gunshots and saw a group of between five and six men firing guns in his direction.
About eight shots were fired, none of which struck the driver.
* A laptop was stolen during a break-in at a home in Hewitt Street, Brakpan North.

• Sunday – A man was arrested for rape at an address along 21st Road in Withok Estates.
It is believed the man was a guest in the home.
At 1pm, he reportedly went into the room of one of the women in the house and raped her.
A male resident of the home went to the woman’s rescue and a fight ensued, during which the resident was stabbed in the head and arm.
Police were called to the address and the man was arrested.
The injured resident was taken to the Pholosong Hospital in Tsakani for medical treatment.
* A petrol station along Heidelberg Road (R23) was robbed by four men.
Three men entered the store on the premises at about 6.50pm and approached the counter, while the fourth kept a watch at the entrance.
The man at the entrance showed the cashier a gun concealed in the waistband of his pants.
The robbers fled with cash from the tills, boxes of cigarettes and a cellphone.
* Computer equipment and a fire extinguisher were stolen from a residence in Gardiner Avenue.
