At this stage, however, representing South Africa overseas is a dream for the youngster due to Covid-19 travel restrictions, as well as financial constraints.

In February, Sonnneveld Academy, at which Juliana is a learner, established a Board of Achievements to recognise outstanding achievements by learners.

Juliana was one of the first 12 learners to be honoured.

On February 5, Juliana participated in Musiekpaniek, a music quiz show on VIA (DStv 147).

Not only was she crowned the champion of this episode, but during the last category, she won by answering three of the five questions, leaving the other participant without any points.

The other three participants were adults.

On March 19, the 2020 gala evening of the Allegretto Eisteddfod was held in Benoni and Juliana was awarded four prestige awards.

She participated at the Allegretto Eisteddfod’s ‘Put Your Best Note Forward’ on March 27 and was awarded two prestige awards as well as a gold medal.

She was also invited to participate in the final and was listed as one of the top 10 competitors.
