Suspected cable thief in cuffs

A man allegedly caught digging up cables in Vulcania was arrested on Sunday morning.

Private security personnel received a tip-off about two men digging up cables at the corner of Neutron and Lemmer roads.

The other, a resident of the Mkhankwa Village informal settlement, was apprehended.

Tools, including a spade and hacksaw, as well as copper cables, were seized from the scene.

A case has been opened at the Brakpan Police Station.
