Flying Squad nabs two in Brakpan

 It is believed security personnel caught them in the act, resulting in the attack.

Two men were arrested for burglary and assault in Brakpan on Saturday by members of the Benoni Flying Squad.

WO Grant Giblin, communications officer for the Benoni Flying Squad, told the Herald members doing routine patrols on High Street at around 3.30pm were stopped by ambulance personnel and given a description of two men who had just committed an assault and house break-in in the vicinity.

The members proceeded to scout the area and came across two men fitting the description.

After being identified by the complainant, they were arrested and detained at the Brakpan Police Station.

According to information received from Brakpan police, the break-in took place at an address along Olga Street in Brenthurst, where steel and aluminum were stolen.

It is believed security personnel caught them in the act, resulting in the attack.

The pair faces charges of house break-in and theft, as well as assault GBH.
