Woman hijacked while waiting at traffic lights

A woman was robbed of her vehicle by two hijackers in Leachville on Saturday evening.

Her attackers smashed the front passenger window of her vehicle, and one of the men was then able to open the door and get into the car.

The incident took place at around 9pm when the victim, travelling in a grey Toyota Etios, was stationary at the traffic lights at the corner of Heidelberg and New Kleinfontein roads.

His accomplice appeared at the driver’s side of the vehicle, opened the door and pulled the victim out of her car. This man climbed behind the wheel and the pair sped off.

The victim was left stranded on the side of the road, but sought help and was taken to the Brakpan Police Station, where she reported the incident
