Mayor honours EMPD members

“You constantly have to respond to life-threatening situations, and you have served with pride and professionalism".

The City of Ekurhuleni Mayor, Mzwandile Masina, honoured members of the EMPD for their long service, dedication, loyalty to serve and outstanding service.
During the first of a two-day medal handover ceremony held at the EMPD Logistics Precinct in Kempton Park on Monday, last week the mayor heaped praises on some of the officers who have diligently served the City.
Some members have been in service for 46 years.
“You constantly have to respond to life-threatening situations, and you have served with pride and professionalism. On behalf of the people of Ekurhuleni, I thank you,” he said.
Masina warned the officers against engaging in any form of corruption, which is normally associated with police officers.
The second medal handover ceremony was scheduled to take place on Tuesday, last week with the mayor honouring other members.
