According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:
• Friday – Employees at a company along Greer Street in Maryvlei were robbed of their personal belongings at gunpoint by a gang of men.
At least three employees were confronted by the gunmen, all of whom were wearing masks, as they arrived at work around 06:35.
Some employees were bound with cable ties and the robbers also searched the victims’ cars.
Cellphones, cash and other goods to the value of R70 240 000 were stolen.
A case of armed robbery is under investigation.
* A smash-and-grab was reported along Airport Drive in Dalpark.
The female driver of a blue Toyota Conquest was stationary at the traffic lights at 16:30 when the passenger side window was smashed by a man.
The thief ran off with the victim’s iPhone valued at R17 000.
• Saturday – No priority cases were reported at the time of publication.
• Sunday – A silver Toyota Hilux bakkie was stolen from an address along Van Zyl Street in Brenthurst.
* A car parked along Kitzinger Avenue was broken into.
The vehicle’s left rear window was removed and the car’s battery was stolen.
