Weltevreden landfill site temporarily closed

Work to clear excess waste at Weltevreden is set to be completed at the beginning of November.

The Weltevreden landfill site in Brakpan is temporarily closed for extensive maintenance following excess waste that was dumped during the closure of the Rietfontein and Simmer and Jack landfill sites.

Maintenance work currently at the local landfill site includes clearing, compacting and covering the waste to create more disposable space.

In the interim, patrons who utilise the Weltevreden landfill site can now use the Rietfontein landfill site in Kwa-Thema and the Simmer and Jack landfill site in Primrose near Germiston.
