Cyclist killed after being struck by vehicle

A case of culpable homicide is under investigation after a vehicle struck and killed a cyclist in Brakpan on December 13.

According to Capt Pearl van Staad, spokesperson for the Brakpan SAPS, the incident took place at the corner of Van Dyk Road and the R554 at 19:45.

“A male aged between 35 and 40 was riding a bicycle when he was bumped and died on the scene,” she said.

The victim has not yet been identified and police are calling on family members or anyone with information to come forward.

He was wearing a black top and blue jeans.
