Join the GPK Church situated along Jim Vining Street, Minnebron for a fun-filled water fun day from 09:00 to 15:00, at R50 per person.

• Muriel Brand School will host a Christmas Market from 09:30 to 18:00. Visitors can browse crafts, handmade goods and unique gifts, enjoy food and treats, and support the school. Stall bookings are open at R200 without electricity or R250 with electricity. Contact Zest on 067 329 1722.

• December 5
The East Rand Children’s Haven is hosting a summer village market from 09:00 to 15:00 at 5 Muriel Brand Street with loads of entertainment and shopping on offer. Vendors can call 078 899 5877 to book a stall.

• The Golden Oldies Social Club meets every Thursday from 08:30 to 11:30 at the Brakpan Methodist Church, corner of Park Street and Northdene Avenue. Open to anyone over 55 with spare time. The club does various crafts, plays board games and is planning a breakfast outing this year. For more information, contact Ursula Edwards on 082 491 6217.

• Brakpan parkrun is open every Saturday at 07:50 at the Brakpan Sports Centre (opposite the library). Runners, walkers and volunteers are welcome. It is free; bring your running tag/barcode. You run, walk or jog at your own pace.
