Pool players awarded
The new leagues commence in March and all registrations need to be in by mid-February.
Brakpan Pool Club recently held its annual prize-giving and knockout championship for 2021. Last year, the club had over 40 members playing from Brakpan Pool Club in various leagues and divisions.
The Covid-19 pandemic made things difficult as it caused numerous interruptions and cancellations. The players’ performances, however, did not take a knock as many of them were selected to represent various provincial teams.
The club also held its club championships throughout the year. The championships saw 12 trophies handed out, some of which were fun ones like slow shooter, which Steven Bayman took and stats master, which Chris Barnard was awarded.
Other awards included most improved player of the year awarded to Philla Myeza, player of the year, which Adriaan Fuhri deservingly took, top woman was awarded to Megan Brett and log runner-up went to Moses Masombuka. Khotso Moeketsane was the ultimate winner when he finished on top of the log with 82% wins.

On the day of the prize-giving, the top 16 in the club champs battled it out to be crowned singles knockout champion for 2021. The finals were a race to 7 formats where Moses Masombuka beat Tony Maartens.
Dean Koegelenberg beat Divan Huyzer 7-3 to win the mugs. The new leagues commence in March and all registrations need to be in by mid-February.
The club holds an open eight ball pool competition every Friday night from 19:00. The winner takes 70% of the entry fee and the runner-up takes 30%. There are also various fund-raising efforts and sponsorship opportunities for businesses to explore.
