BMW driver hijacked in Leachville

One of them knocked on his window with a firearm and instructed the victim to move to the backseat.

The driver of a red BMW 320i was hijacked in Leachville last Friday.

According to information received from Brakpan police, the victim arrived at an address along Blyde Avenue at 20:37 and noticed a white vehicle behind him when he pulled into the driveway.

The vehicle had four occupants, three of whom climbed out of the car and approached the victim’s vehicle.
One of them knocked on his window with a firearm and instructed the victim to move to the backseat.

The trio got into the BMW and the victim was told to look down and not look at them. They drove off and searched the victim.

The men took his cellphone and forced him to unlock it. They accessed his banking app and took his bank cards and demanded the PINs.

The victim was forced out of the vehicle in Wattville, Benoni. The stolen car is valued at R400 000. The incident was reported to Brakpan police and a case of hijacking is under investigation.
