Help clean up our town

Community members who want to get involved are requested to meet at 09:00 on Saturday.

Residents who want to see a change to the state of the streets of Brakpan are invited to join Brakpan SAPS and other stakeholders in a clean-up and awareness campaign this Saturday (March 5). This initiative was previously discussed at a meeting on February 9 which was featured in the Herald, ‘Town decay fuels crime. Details were finalised during a follow-up meeting at the police station this morning. Voortrekker Road and Prince George Avenue will be the focus of the day, however, if time and resources allow, the groups may move to other hotspot areas in town. Community members who want to get involved are requested to meet at 09:00 on Saturday in the open veld opposite the Brakpan Police Station. If possible, bring along refuse bags, gloves, brooms, rakes and other supplies. A request has been made for donations of bottled water for volunteers on the day. Individuals or businesses able to assist with donations may contact Capt Pearl van Staad on 011 744 7100. Van Staad may also be contacted for more information regarding the campaign.
