Help the Brakpan SPCA change the lives of numerous animals
Th project focuses on the five freedoms of animals.
The Brakpan SPCA has launched its 5 Freedoms Project for 2022, where the society wants to express the five freedoms for animals.
The five are freedom from hunger and thirst, freedom from discomfort, freedom from pain, injury or disease, freedom to express normal behaviour and freedom from fear and distress.
The Brakpan SPCA will be accomplishing the project in five ways:
• Educational and volunteer programme
• Outreach programme
• Proactive inspections
• Sterilisation and vaccination programmes
• Adoption days
As education is a big part of the project, the SPCA is urging local schools to get in touch and contact the society to book an educational visit. Send an email to manager@brakpanspca.co.za for more information.
On June 1, the local SPCA team will be starting an outreach programme and has appealed to members of the community for donations of collars and leads (old or new), ice cream containers (1.8lt, 2lt and 5lt), 2lt cold drink bottles, blankets (new or used) and plastic shopping bags.
These items can be dropped off at the society.
