Danny Painter to host M-net’s official My Kitchen Rules aftershow

Join Danny for a glimpse into what's really happening in the kitchens.

My Kitchen Rules South Africa (MKRSA) is back for a fourth season and this time viewers can expect even more culinary delights and drama with M-Net launching an accompanying digital after show.

The after show, hosted by media personality and Jacaranda FM host Danny Painter, airs every Sunday evening directly after the main show’s episodes on all M-Net digital platforms (Facebook, YouTube and for podcast lovers on ionoFM).

My Kitchen Rules is one of South Africa’s, and the world’s, most loved reality television programmes. At the helm once again are chef and entrepreneur David Higgs and the incomparable artist and foodie J’Something.

MKRSA provides South African home cooks the opportunity to showcase what they can do in two phases, the Instant Restaurant phase, and the Challenge phase.

Painter, a Brakpan resident, is a foodie and home cook in her own right who has a wealth of experience in the local media arena, creating content for numerous traditional and digital platforms.

She is no stranger to local audiences, having hosted TV and radio shows for the last 20 years. Painter is currently the host of Jacaranda FM’s popular weeknight show, Love Songs with Danny Painter as well as the CTM Top 40 on Saturdays.

“This is such a wonderful opportunity to create even more buzz around an already massive show/franchise. The aftershow promises to be extremely candid and fun and I’ll get into what’s happening in those fiery kitchens – the drama, the tension and everything in between,” said Painter.

Her unique flair for people and storytelling makes her the perfect host for this exciting new digital exclusive. Her ability to ‘get the tea’, as she explained with a laugh, will make her a weekly staple for all the MKR fanatics.

“Having early access to the first few episodes already, I can disclose that this season will have some drama. There are a few huge personalities and egos – this paired with the pressure of a hot kitchen is reality TV gold. I am elated to work with executive producer Renaldo Schwarp on this exciting digital product,” Painter added.

You can follow the show and the digital after-show via any of the official M-Net social media platforms or by following the #MKRSA hashtag.
