Help restore dignity to those in need

Street shower in aid of local homeless community.

A street shower to uplift and restore dignity to the homeless will take place in Brakpan on November 12.

Organised by CHB Community Upliftment Centre, the event will cater for 150 homeless people, including men, women and children.

They will receive a haircut, a set of new clothes (including underwear, socks and shoes), shower bags containing soap, a face cloth, toothpaste, a toothbrush, roll-on deodorant, shaving foam, razors and body lotion.

There will also be CV writing services and counselling. A full meal and liquid refreshments will be provided along with snacks.

The organisation has appealed to the community and businesses to get involved.

Donations of men’s shoes size six to nine are urgently required. Monetary donations are also welcome.

Shoes can be dropped off at the centre at 114 Kingsway Avenue.
