Brakpan SAPS encourages the public to join them in the fight against crime by becoming informants.
According to Brakpan police communications officer Constable Audrey Buthelezi, any South African adult, male or female, can register as a police informant and get paid for good intelligence which leads to arrests and eventually convictions.
The programme safeguards the information received and the identity of the informants.
“Communities are encouraged to stand and work together with SAPS for a safer and united country,” said Buthelezi.
Interested individuals will go through a selection process and be guided through the terms and conditions.
Brakpan police may be contacted on 011 744 7100.
