Trio arrested for house robbery
Good stolen from the home were recovered and the car used in the commission of the crime was seized.
Teamwork between SAPS, security personnel and other role players led to the swift arrest of three suspected house robbers last Tuesday afternoon.
A 15-year-old boy was at home during the robbery which took place at an address along Boundary Road.
According to information received from Brakpan SAPS, the teenager’s grandmother left the house at around 14:00 to fetch her granddaughter from school.
As she drove off, she noticed a white Volkswagen Polo parked in the road and a woman wearing a maroon jacket alighted the vehicle. The Polo had two male occupants.

Within a few minutes, the grandmother rushed home after receiving a call from a neighbour asking whether she was expecting anyone as there were men at her property.
Shortly after the grandmother arrived at the house, two men and a woman were apprehended. The grandson reported he was inside the house when he heard a woman shouting.
He went outside and the woman asked him where his parents were. When he replied they were not at home, she told him to fetch a piece of paper so she can leave her contact details as she wants to discuss a business matter with them.
The teenager went inside the house and was followed by two men, who pinned him down on the couch.

One of the men removed a TV from its brackets on the wall and the woman also started taking the family’s belongings.
It is not clear if the intruders were armed with weapons. Two laptops, a cellphone a kettle, a Wi-Fi router and two handbags were taken.
It is believed a member of Secure Tech Security raised the alarm about the robbery and called for backup. Community members also sprang into action and responded to the scene.
Members of the Ekurhuleni District Trio Operational Task Team and CJ Investigations arrested two men, aged 38 and 39.

The pair was searched and their phones seized. It was later established that one of the phones was stolen from the house.
A woman (52) was arrested while attempting to flee the scene. Goods stolen from the home were found in the Polo.
All the stolen items were returned to the owner and the Polo was seized. The arrested trio was detained at the Brakpan Police Station.
