Learners make thousands of sandwiches for Mandela Day

Sarmies galore at Dalpark Private School.

Dalpark Private School spread the love on Mandela Day by making sandwiches to feed those in need.

With sponsorships from the Pick n Pay School Club, Feed the Nation Foundation, staff and parents, all learners spent 67 minutes making sandwiches.

According to school principal Logan Naina, about 2 000 sandwiches with different fillings were made.

“Learners thoroughly enjoyed making the sandwiches which were distributed to car guards at Mall@Carnival and Makro Carnival, job-seekers at the side of the road in Dalpark and around the mall, residents of our neighbouring Tamboville, a tent camp in Brakpan, workers at a cat sanctuary in Benoni and the Sai Centre in Actonville,” he said.
