City to hold public hearings on Auditor General’s report

Interested members of the public are invited to attend the meetings.

The City of Ekurhuleni’s Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC) will soon hold public meetings to engage the public on the audit report released by the Auditor General (AG) of South Africa recently.

Paramount to the discussions will be the AG’s findings on the city’s unauthorised, irregular, fruitless, and wasteful expenditure (UIFW) for the 2022/23 financial year. The issues raised by the AG on the UIFW were referred to the

MPAC will guide the council on the way forward and report back to the council at the end of April.

The public hearings are open to all interested members of the public and will be held:

• April 5 at 10:00 at Germiston’s new council chamber
• April 8 at 10:00 at Germiston’s new council chamber.
