Hijackers take R1.1m BMW and its owner

They drove him to a veld before stealing his white BMW and R6 000 in cash.

The police are investigating cases of hijacking and kidnapping after hijackers robbed a man of his white BMW and held him captive on July 30.

The victim was travelling along the N17 near Dalpark at around 05:30 when he noticed a car with blue lights.

Men dressed as officers pulled him over. It is unknown if these men were dressed as EMPD or SAPS officers.

Three uniformed men approached the victim, and he opened his window. They then threatened him at gunpoint and told him to get out of the car.

They forced him to the back seat and drove to a veld, at the same time searching his car for valuables. They found a phone and R6 000 cash, which they took.

The hijackers returned the victim’s phone to him and left him in a veld. The car is valued at R1.1m.
