Bhairavi Sungum lights up children’s hearts

The Bhairavi Sungum of Springs celebrated Diwali with the spirit of giving – its Give-a-Tray drive – on Thursday.

The day was honoured when they lit fireworks and shared trays of sweets and savoury foods with the children at the East Rand Children’s Haven in Brakpan.

Community members had come together at the Give-a-Try collection point during the day to ensure the initiative’s success.

Bhairavi Sungum chairperson Poovershree Pillay said it was a blessing to dedicate the day to helping those less fortunate.

“The joy and excitement on their faces truly warmed our hearts,” said Pillay.

The Bhairavi Sungum of Springs thanks the community for their support in making the Diwali drive a reality.
