The soccer and netball teams received medals, and some trophies.
Brakpan Sports Association (BSA) held their prizegiving for the year 2023-2024 on November 16 at the netball courts at the Brakpan Sports Centre.
The soccer and netball players of various age groups and leagues received awards for their dedication and hard work. The BSA also hopes to introduce chess and basketball to their leagues, opening up more opportunities for local children to participate in a sport.
There are only a few netball teams, one per age group, so they did not compete against each other in BSA leagues, and as a result, netball teams received participation awards and a few individual awards.
The U11 soccer winners are Sallies FC, with Golden Boys Academy in second and Leachville FC in third. Brakpan Bush Bucks took first in the U13 league, followed by the Anzac Dolphins FC and Ntsiks Football Stars.
The U15 winners are Ntsiks, with Leachville in second. U17 saw Brakpan Bush Bucks in first, Leachville second and Golden Boys third.
The Super League is where the Golden Boys shone, while Young Stars FC placed second and Anzac Dolphins third.
