Hire skip bins and avoid illegal dumping – City advises

"The bin would be delivered between 24 to 48 hours from date of application."

Illegally disposed building rubble is an eyesore, and it is also harmful to the environment.

The city continuously encourages residents to make use of the municipal skip bin hire services, offering a standard six cubic metre non-compactable rubble container for the duration of the customer’s requirement.

“The process can be done telephonically if the client can provide all required information electronically. This is a convenient alternative to a walk-in at the depot,” said City of Ekurhuleni spokesperson Zweli Dlamini.

“The bin will be delivered between 24 to 48 hours from the date of application. Documents required for the application include a municipal statement of account and the customer’s ID document.

“Applicable tariffs, as per the city’s schedule of tariffs, available on the city’s website and at customer care centres, are payable. The tariffs are adjusted annually,” said Dlamini.
