San Michele to host second annual Mr and Miss Mental Wellness pageant
The pageant celebrates Mental Health Month, and has professional judges on the panel.
San Michele is hosting its second annual Mr and Miss Mental Wellness pageant on 266 Hannes Visagie Road in Withok on July 19. The event is open to San Michele residents and other NPOs housing or caring for adults with disabilities.
The event celebrates Mental Health Month in May and offers residents and patients a social occasion where they can feel beautiful and valued. Professional judges oversee the pageant and select the winners.
Ralph Raman, former director at Oldskool Radio and husband of the home’s matron Soja Raman, will be the MC for the day.
Dave Smith, United World Sports and Fitness Federation executive member and chief judge of the International Bodybuilding and Fitness pageant, is the head judge.
Annwen Jordan, a professional model and the founder, director and CEO of the Jordan Legacy Model Management, serves as the second judge.
The third judge is Vicky Roelofse, a freelance model and ambassador for Braaibaas SA 2020. Last is Stephane Rens was a Ms SA finalist, owns the Halfway There Game Lodge and is the director of Posh Functions.
The pageant is open to the public and will run from 09:30 to 16:00. Entry is R70 for adults, R30 for adolescents and free for children under 12.
There will also be food stalls and a tuckshop.
