Police recruitment drive assists over 100 applicants in Brakpan

From guidance on online applications to handing out detailed recruitment booklets, SAPS officers ensured aspiring police trainees received the help they needed.

Police held a recruitment drive at Mall@Carnival on July 8 aimed at assisting individuals looking to pursue a career in law enforcement.

The drive was conducted by Captain Grant Green and senior admin clerk Justine van Bosch from Provincial SAPS (human resources), along with Brakpan SAPS sector managers.

“The goal was to equip legible candidates of the entry level police trainee vacancies 2025/2026 intake with factual recruitment requirements and assist those who have challenges with the online applications,” said Brakpan SAPS Sector 1 manager Constable Audrey Buthelezi.

The SAPS members interacted with candidates and handed out a detailed booklet that explains the recruitment process from the closing date, post details, duties, minimum requirements, qualifications, training period, selection process (who gets preference), screening and assessment, vetting and security checks, communication and results, and a step-by-step guide to the online applications.

“Parents brought their employment-seeking children who were experiencing challenges with the website, and Captain Green assisted each of them to submit their applications,” said Buthelezi.

“The community appreciated the SAPS’ efforts regarding the recruitment process and most cited statements of relief in finally submitting their applications.”

During the drive, 115 candidates were assisted.

Brakpan police will hold another recruitment drive today (July 11) from 10:00 to 14:00 at the open field opposite the Sherwood Shopping Centre in Brakpan North.

The youth are urged to apply before the July 18 closing date.
