Illicit cigarette bust in Brakpan nets R24 000 in seized goods

On July 19, EMPD Tracing Unit officers prevented illicit cigarettes valued at thousands of rands from hitting the streets during a bust in Brakpan.

According to CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini, following information received about a man selling illicit cigarettes, officers traced the man and found him in possession of 200 cartons of cigarettes worth R24 000.

He was arrested and charged for possession of illicit cigarettes. The man was detained at the Brakpan Police Station.
