Many medals were won and spots secured in SA championships.

Brakpan Boxing Club proved its mettle once again last weekend at the Transnet Engineering boxing ring in Koedoespoort, Pretoria.

The occasion was the cadet and junior championship and development tournament, where five of the club’s boxers competed in an event that showcased the club’s hard work and commitment to developing top-tier athletes.

De-Han Lubbe and Donewin Martens both won their bouts 3-0, while Kosie Roos claimed victory after his opponent withdrew. Andre Mare lost his match by referee stoppage, and Talitha Roos, despite a loss, earned a silver medal.

Beyond the tournament’s success, the club is also celebrating national call-ups. Brakpan boxers have been selected to represent Gauteng at the upcoming South African Championships.
