SAPS appeal for assistance identifying decomposed body

Police seek public assistance after recyclers discovered a decomposed body near Rooikraal.

Brakpan SAPS detectives are appealing to the public for assistance after the body of an unidentified man was found in an agricultural area on the outskirts of Brakpan.

The body, which had already started decomposing, was discovered on February 22 by recyclers along the R554 (Nigel Road) near Rooikraal.

According to police, there were no belongings on the deceased to assist with identification, and decomposition prevented any visible marks from being noted.

Anyone who may have a missing family member is requested to visit the Germiston government mortuary or contact Detective Sergeant Thobile Zulu on 072 635 0464.
