Brakpan SPCA rolls out major clearance sale ahead of thrift shop move

With everything from clothing to homeware half price, the sale aims to support animals amid financial strain.

The Brakpan SPCA’s Bargain Barkers Thrift Store will be vacating its premises at Mall@Carnival and relocating to the society’s property. This move comes as the society confronts a severe financial crisis.

Although the store’s presence at the mall was initially expected to generate sustainable income, escalating overhead costs have placed significant strain on already limited resources.

The society expressed sincere gratitude to the management and owners of Mall@Carnival, who hosted the store for more than two years and provided a valuable opportunity for growth.

The SPCA noted its appreciation for the support received during this period. To facilitate the relocation and raise essential funds, the store is hosting a “Relocation Sale” until May 31.

Shoppers are encouraged to take advantage of the discounted items, as the society aims to minimise the volume of goods being moved.

The sale includes 50% off all clothing, 50% off all kitchenware and home goods, and 50% off all miscellaneous items.

There is also a “Book Blast” special where book lovers can fill a Woolworths bag with books for only R100.

All proceeds will go directly towards providing food and medical care for the animals at the SPCA.
