Local champion Pieter Vorster targets two-time world champion status

Pieter “Bulldog” Vorster is preparing for the Strict Arm Curl and Freestanding Curl Nationals in Durban on June 20 as he pursues his goal of becoming a two-time world champion, with the community rallying behind his campaign.

Pieter “Bulldog” Vorster, a popular slap fighter and former world champion in both strict arm curl and freestanding curl, is aiming to add another world title to his impressive sporting résumé.

Vorster will compete at the Strict Arm Curl and Freestanding Curl Nationals in Durban on June 20, where he will defend his national title and continue his quest to become a two-time world champion.

On Sunday, he received support from Freedom Front Plus PR Clr Riaan van Zyl during a fundraising “blikkie skud” at the Mall@Carnival traffic lights, where contributions were collected from the public to help fund his trip to Durban.

He also attended a Winter Market at Cosy Corner on Saturday, where he met and interacted with members of the community.

“I am ready and looking forward to the challenge,” said Vorster.

Residents who would still like to contribute towards his trip to Durban can contact Pieter on 074 349 4526.
