Weekend crime round-up
An overview of crimes reported to local SAPS from June 9 to 11.

The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past weekend:
Friday – A laptop, shoes, clothes, a wristwatch, a cellphone and a bottle of cologne were stolen during a break-in at a home along Lotus Avenue in Kenleaf.
• Copper pipes were stolen from a Jones Avenue residence. A car parked on the property was also broken into. A part of the vehicle’s dashboard was taken.
Saturday – Two Toyota Hilux bakkies were stolen in separate incidents. One was stolen from an address along Colliery Road in Rand Collieries. The vehicle was found in Katlehong. The other was stolen from Mall@Carnival.
• A man was apprehended on the premises of Hoërskool Die Anker in Brenthurst after a break-in at the school. A TV and a computer system were recovered.
• A TV and a bag of clothing were stolen during a burglary at an address along End Street in Dalview.
• A break-in was reported at a business along Coert Steynberg Street in Van Eck Park. Copper, computers and a TV were stolen, along with two trucks. The trucks were recovered.
• A man and his wife were robbed of the car in which they were travelling at the corner of Prince George Avenue and Voortrekker Road.
The hijacking took place at around 23:40 while the couple was stationary at the traffic lights.
They were confronted by a man armed with a gun and another brandishing a screwdriver.
The victims were instructed to get out of the car and the hijackers climbed in and drove off towards Station Road.
Sunday – A home in Gauteus Avenue, Minnebron, was burgled of a TV, a computer tower and a gas heater.
