Weekend crime round-up
An overview of crimes reported to local SAPS from November 17 to 19.
The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past weekend:
Friday – A cellphone was stolen during a burglary at a home in George Troskie Street, Minnebron.
• A home in Joubert Street was burgled of a TV, an inverter and other household items.
• A garage at a Gladstone Avenue residence was broken into and a gas bottle, mag wheels, racing tyres and a car battery were stolen.
• A white Toyota Hilux was stolen from Mall@Carnival.
• A silver Kawasaki motorbike was stolen from an address along Victoria Falls Road in Anzac. The motorbike was parked in a locked garage.
• The rider of a white Big Boy motorbike was robbed of the bike by four occupants of an unidentified white vehicle.
The hijacking took place at the corner of Lawrence and Langenhoven streets in Dalpark at around 21:40. The hijackers blocked the victim’s path with their vehicle and then threatened him with a gun.
Saturday – An outside room on a property along Hewit Street in Brakpan North was broken into. Electrical cables, an inverter, petrol, a gas bottle, a welding machine and other tools were stolen.
• A white Toyota Hilux was stolen from Carnival City.
• Two motorbikes were stolen from a home along Kouga Street in Leachville.
Sunday – Groceries and children’s clothes were stolen during a break-in at business along Denne Road in Vulcania.
• A Voortrekker Road business was burgled of power tools and a cellphone.
• Cellphones, groceries, a TV and other electronics were stolen during a break-in at a home in Frere Avenue, Anzac.
