Weekend crime round-up
An overview of crimes reported to local SAPS from November 24 to 26.

The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past weekend:
Friday – A Kia K2700 was stolen from Mall@Carnival.
• A vehicle parked at the corner of Kingsway and Prince George avenues was broken into. Cash and various goods including a cellphone, clothing, cigarettes and stationery were stolen.
• A food delivery driver was robbed of his motorcycle at the corner of Daimler and Lotus avenues in Kenleaf at around 21:00.
The victim was en route to make a delivery in the area when a white Hyundai Atos with four occupants bumped the rear of the bike, causing him to fall.
Three men armed with guns got out of the car and approached the victim, who then ran from the scene. The victim watched from a distance as one of the men got on the bike and rode away. The other two returned to the Hyundai and drove off.
Saturday – A camera was stolen from a car parked along Tweedy Road in Brenthurst. The vehicle’s interior was also damaged.
• Groceries were stolen during a burglary at a home along Hastings Avenue.
• A grey Volkswagen Polo was stolen from an address along Drakensberg Avenue, Helderwyk.
• The occupants of a white Hyundai i10 robbed a food delivery driver of his cellphone and scooter along Milner Avenue at around 19:30.
The victim had slowed down to search for the customer’s house when he saw three men get out of the Hyundai and run towards him.
One of the men pointed a gun at him, searched his pockets and took his cellphone. They took his Big Boy scooter and fled the scene.
• A Dalpark family were robbed in their Etosha Avenue home by three men just before 20:00. The intruders, each carrying a firearm, walked into the home through an open kitchen door. They told the couple and their son to cooperate.
The husband was instructed to make a transaction on his cellphone banking app and then he and his son were tied up with shoelaces.
The robbers then placed the family in a walk-in cupboard and ransacked the house. They fled after about 10 minutes with cellphones, shoes, a TV and other valuables.
Sunday – A robbery was reported at a business along Denne Road in Witpoortjie. A security guard discovered intruders on the premises at around 02:50. There were at least three robbers, one of whom fled when the guard approached him.
Two others were found at a different location on the property. One of them was armed with a gun and fired a shot at the guard. He managed to escape unharmed and then alerted the security company.
A fridge stolen from the company was found abandoned outside the premises. Cases of business robbery and attempted murder are under investigation.
• A home in Gladstone Avenue was burgled of a laptop and a cordless drill.
