Mbense murder case postponed as six accused remain in custody
No release for the six Mbense murder accused as their case was postponed to next week.
The six accused in the murder of Emmanuel Mbense will spend more time behind bars after the case was postponed to next week.
Suspended EMPD deputy chief Julius Mkhwanazi, Cobus Janse van Rensburg, Bhekokwakhe Sibande, Adrian Mackenzie, Keisha-Leigh Stols and Juan-Mare Eksteen appeared in the Brakpan Magistrate’s court this afternoon (Friday) for the continuation of the formal application.
It was revealed during the reading of Eksteen’s affidavit that she presented herself at the Brakpan Police Station on August 13, where she was then arrested and taken to court.

The former police officer had returned to South Africa on August 10 from Dubai, where she had found temporary employment rendering services as personal security.
Her employment in the SAPS was terminated due to the allegations against her.
In March, the SAPS commenced disciplinary procedures against her which resulted in her dismissal in April.
The accused are charged with murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, and defeating or obstructing the ends or administration of justice.
The case was postponed to August 18.
