Severe thunderstorms expected to hit Gauteng
Strong damaging winds and large amounts of small hail are possible.
Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS) remains on high alert following Yellow Level 2 weather conditions focused around south-western parts of Gauteng cities, including the City of Ekurhuleni.
According to DEMS, it is anticipated that strong damaging winds and large amounts of small hail are possible over southern Gauteng.
Damaging winds have the potential to aggravate small fires, which can then become life-threatening.
Thunderstorms have the potential to topple trees, electrical power lines and structures, as well as cause damage to vehicles, all of which can be life-threatening.
