NOTICE FOR BASIC ASSESSMENT PROCESS FOR THE PROPOSED RETAIL DEVELOPMENT AT RYNFIELD, BENONI IN THE CITY OF EKURHULENI METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY, GAUTENG PROVINCE.
BASIC ASSESSMENT PROCESS Notice is hereby given in terms of Regulation 41(2) of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations, 2014, as Amended in April 2017 , published in terms of the National Environmental Management Act (Act 107 of 1998) (NEMA) as amended, for the purpose of applying for an Environmental Authorisation (EA) with the Gauteng Department Environment (GDENV) for the proposed filling station and shopping complex on Erf 5008, 5009, 5011 and 5012 Crystal Park Extension 11 on the property as mentioned above on project descriptions and Location.
The proposed project triggers activities on Listing Notice No. 1 (GN R 893) including Listed Activities 14, 19, 27 and 67, and Listing Notice No. 3 (GN R 895) including Listed Activities 12 and 14 of April 2017 EIA Regulations as amended.
PROJECT LOCATION
The proposed site is in Benoni on the corner of the M44 (Pretoria Road) and Vlei Road. The study area is approximately 2.95 ha. The approximate central coordinates are 26 8`6.04″S and 2821`6.33″E under City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality.
