Winning momentum for DFC
Brakpan’s Dalpark Football Club (DFC) played two matches in the Benoni South Local Football Association's (BSLFA) Division One, over the weekend of Saturday, December 7, and Sunday, December 8.
On Saturday, the DFC team took on Red Rovers and continued with their recent winning form.
Dylan Fray and Lincoln Nyhati scored a goal each to steer their team to a 2-1 victory, in a match where the referee sent off three Dalpark players.
Brian Fray, team coach and manager, said he had written to the league to address the current standard of refereeing.
On Sunday, DFC enjoyed a brilliant win, despite placing an outfield player in the goals.
At the halftime break, Dalpark were on the back foot at 1-0 down, but goals from Nyhati, Mxolisi Mazibuko, Thabang Cebekhulu and Gordon Lucas, in the second stanza, helped the team to a 4-1 win.
“I am very proud of how the boy responded after our first couple of losses in the league, and I think the new players we recently got on-board also made a big difference to the team,” said Fray.
“The spirit in the team is very good at the moment, and the understanding between the players has improved a lot.
“As the league breaks I would like to wish all the players and their families a merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.”
