In celebration of Father’s Day, which takes place this year on Sunday, June 19, the Herald is inviting readers to share their special photos.

The winning photo will be published in the newspaper, but there is also a nice prize at stake.

The father who will appear on the winning photo will be spoiled with a hamper from Chanri’s Coffee House, which is located at 755 Voortrekker Road.

A panel of judges will go through the entries and choose the best one.

We’re looking for photos that perfectly capture the bond between a dad and his child/children.

It can be a fun picture, or something more serious.

Also remember the following:

• Photos must not be older than four months and only residents of the town may enter the competition.

• Photos should be sent in jpeg format and should be at least 1 MB.

• Poor quality photos and those that have been digitally manipulated or altered (with text or graphics) will also not be considered.

• The name, surname and age of each person in the photo must be included, as well as a short description of where and when the photo was taken.

• The person entering the picture should provide their name and phone number.

• Photos can be sent by e-mail, to brakpanherald@caxton.co.za

• Mention the words “Father’s Day photo competition” in the subject box.

• Images can also be submitted to our office at Van der Walt Street 61, Dalview.

• The closing date for the photo competition is on Monday, June 6, at 9am.

The winning photo will be published in the Herald on June 10.
