Die NG Kerk Brakpan-Oos hou ’n nagmark by die kerk vanaf 4nm tot 8nm. Heerlike eetgoed sal te koop wees. Daar sal ook ’n tombolatafel en vlooimark stalletjies wees. Die Suid-Afrikaanse Nasionale Bloeddiens sal ook vanaf 4nm beskikbaar wees vir persone wat bloed wil skenk. Die kerk is op die hoek van Lappingstraat en Boundaryweg geleë. Vlooimarkstalletjies kan bespreek word deur vir Alta Rudolph te skakel (083 396 7591).

Nagmark – 31 Mei.

• Die NG Kerk Brakpan-Wes, op die hoek van Reitzlaan en Paul Krugerstraat, hou ’n kermis vanaf 4nm. Pannekoeke, boereworsrolle, lekkers, kerrie en rys, poedings, tuisgebak, koeldranke, asook koffie en tee sal beskikbaar wees. ’n Karatevertoning sal ook gelewer word. A Winter market will be held at the East Rand Children’s Haven at 5 Muriel Brand Street from 10am to 4pm. The public is encouraged to support this skills development initiative and fund-raising event. For more information or to book a stall phone 011 813 2750 or 071 356 2291.

The Sector Three Brakpan CPF will hold its annual general meeting at 7pm at the East Rand Children’s Haven in Brenthurst. The meeting will see a new committee elected and all residents and business owners in the area are urged to attend and cast their vote. Sector Three comprises Brenthurst, Vulcania, Maryvlei Industrial, Sallies Village, Mkhankwa Village, Sallies Hostel, Ergo Plant, Vulcania South and Western Platinum.

The Sector One Brakpan CPF will hold its annual general meeting at 7pm at Tweedy Park. The meeting will see a new committee elected and all residents and business owners in the area are urged to attend and cast their vote. Sector One is made up of Brakpan CBD, Brakpan North, Brakpan West (dam), Anzac and Brakpan East (Power Street to Bedford Street, Voortrekker Road to Boundary Road).

• June 10

The Sector Four Brakpan CPF will hold its annual general meeting at 6pm at the United Apostolic Faith Church along Blyde Avenue in Leachville Extension Three. The meeting will see a new committee elected and all residents and business owners in the area are urged to attend and cast their vote. The sector is made up of the following areas: Leachville Ext One, Two and Three, Flamingo Ridge, Dalpark Ext One, Six, Nine, 11 and 13, Helderwyk and the Carnival City area.

• June 11

The Sector Two Brakpan CPF will hold its annual general meeting at 7pm at NG Kerk Dalview along Acton Street. The meeting will see a new committee elected and all residents and business owners in the area are urged to attend and cast their vote. Sector Two comprises Dalview, Denneoord, Kenleaf, Larrendale, Dalpark, Dalpark Ext Five, Minnebron, Rand Collieries, Sunair Park, Sonneveld, Van Eck Park Ext Two, Sallies Ext Three and Four, Withok and Witpoort.

• Tuesday

The Brakpan Homecrafts Society meets every first Tuesday of the month at the St Peter’s Anglican Church hall at 10am. New members are welcome. For more information contact Jane Donker (011 915 2539).

• A Narcotics Anonymous meeting for people who have a problem with drugs, or think they may have a problem with drugs, is held every Tuesday at 7.30pm at the St John the Baptist Catholic Church, 74 Queen Avenue.

• Wednesday

The Hospice charity shop situated at the corner of Prince George and Kitzinger avenues (133 Kitzinger Avenue) has a half-price sale on all clothing items every Wednesday.

• Christian Missionary Fellowship International invites you to an interdenominational prayer fellowship every Wednesday from 5.30pm to 7pm at 121 Athlone Avenue, Dalview. For more information contact Ariel Mesa (083 480 4737).

• A soup kitchen is held every Wednesday from 4.30pm to 6.30pm at the St John the Baptist Catholic Church, 74 Queen Avenue.

• Thursday
